L’Anima Restaurant –Highly Commented

Without a doubt, this is one of Matthew Stone Restoration’s most prestigious projects so far. All the stone and steel installation demanded knowledge and practice: from clever planning and design, to highly skilled stonemasonry. The project itself had many demands but the following were the main requirements for design and installation of a:

  • curved stone ceiling, walls and columns where special brackets had to be invented
  • stone table in the VIP room and stone sinks in the restaurant toilets
  • sophisticated stone water feature and modern combination of electric lights with White Onyx stone.

Stone: Pierre de Combe Brune, Travertina Navona, White Onyx, Green Bamboo, Polphry Brown

Judges comments:

“This project represents a highly defined sense of minimalism (particularly in the private dining room) while using material to create great character in confined spaces in a controlled way. The stone work required incredibly demanding tolerances to achieve the standards in this interior that are extremely impressive.”
